The Cottage
Casa Buena Vista is a delightful traditional Spanish
cottage with two bedrooms in the scenic village of Saleres in the
Lecrin Valley, Andalucia. This is an idyllic area in which to enjoy your
Spanish cottage holidays.
Casa Buena Vista, which has recently been
completely renovated, will sleep up to four adults and two
children, as the lounge converts into an additional double bedroom if required.
The cottage retains a host of original features including wooden shuttered
windows and beams, traditional decor and a large fireplace in the lounge, in which
there is a wood burning stove to warm any chilly off-season nights.
Further heating is provided by thermostatically controlled electric
radiators. A big attraction of the cottage
is the sunny south facing roof terrace, on which you can
soak up the sun on the loungers or have a barbecue. The cottage has stunning views
(see opposite) over the village, down the valley, across to the Sierra Nevada mountains (the highest peaks in Spain which
are snow capped
for around half of the year) and over the adjacent orange, lemon and olive
trees towards the gorge.
Casa Buena Vista comprises, on the ground floor, a dining room
with a large fireplace with wood-burning
stove, and a small kitchen with gas oven / hobs, microwave and fridge.
Stairs lead to the first floor, where there is a lounge with views over
the fruit groves and a TV (with Sky Freesat), a DVD player, a radio / CD / cassette player
and a Playstation with dual controllers and a selection of games.
This room has a comfortable double sofa bed, providing sleeping
accommodation for two adults if required. On this floor, there is also a
small bedroom with a sturdy bunk bed, sleeping two people (adults or children) as necessary.
Stairs then lead to the second floor, on which there is the spacious
master (double) bedroom, again with views, and the bathroom with WC,
shower and heater.
Further stairs then lead to the beautiful roof terrace with patio
furniture including loungers, barbecue, clothes dryer and
best of all magnificent views. There is also a washing machine hidden
away!
